The Future!

Where do you really want to be in five years?

Practically speaking, where will you be living, will you have a wife/ husband? Will he or she have a paycheck too?

Will you have just started a career, working the same job the past five years?

Will you have children?

Will you have the same car or one at all?

What will you be spending most of your money on? Traveling or any children? Going for another degree in college?

(RESPONDERS- May want to question these responses and their credibility? Or relate to them... Don't just respond: "that's great! Good Luck")

  2. In 5 years I see myself in another country finishing dental school probably not with a husband because I want to forces on my career I want to have 3 kids but when I’m settled down and have finished with college I would love to travel around the world and experience different culture, taste the different foods, see the lifestyles and experience a different type of living other than the one I was raised in .

    3. I want to have 3 kids because I am the only child and it gets lonely. I would have liked to have a sibling to talk to and to share my thoughts with so that is why I would like to have 3 kids

    4. @E.Vazquez-That is true if I didn't have any siblings to talk to while I was growing up it probably would of been lonely too. So it makes sense that you would want more kids so that your kids aren't lonely as well when they grow up.

  3. In five years, I want to be just starting my life, hopefully with a husband. I plan moving out of state for college to attempt to live without the support of my parents. Attaining a Bachelor in Fine Arts is my main goal. I hope to have a decent paying job to get myself through school, and after earning my degree be able to help support my family alongside my husband with the job I’ve always wanted. I know I have to keep the money I earn safe also, and not spend it frivolously on things I don’t need. It would go towards my family and what is necessary. I hope to be the best person I can be, surrounded by the people who respect my choices.

    1. My goal is to go to college out of state as well so that I can learn to be independent so that when I finish college it won't be such a dramatic adjustment. If I just stay close to home and have my parents help I am going to be stuck when I graduate and have to live on my own. I like that you plan to support your family and keep your money safe. One of the most difficult things about living on my own will be managing my money and being responsible about what I buy.

    2. I also want a well paying job during college because i want to know that i can sustain myself when i get out and how to manage that money to my benefit. -M.Allred

  5. In five years what I want to do in my life is travel and learn about cultures. I especially want to study the fighting studies of the cultures. I have always been intrigued by the way cultures derive our fighting capabilities into different things. some cultures believe in things as ki which is the inner strength of the body. some martial arts have a belief that ki is balance. Other cultures categorize it as chakra or spirit. I want to learn about all of it or as much as possible at least. I feel if I learn these things I can create something new from everything.

  6. In five years I would like to be finishing my first four years of college and then moving on to law school. I want to go to college out of state, preferably South Carolina, so that I will be more independent. Hopefully I will have a new car but most of my money will be spent on school. I will only be twenty- two years old in five years so I do not want to married or have kids. As cliché as it sounds I want to travel before I settle down and have a family.

    2. k.merkert, any places in mind that you want to travel to before you settle?

    3. The fist place i want to go is California, because ever since I was little I wanted to go there. I also want to go to France and Italy because I know people that have visited those places and they seem like a really fun place to go.

    4. Do you have any schools in mind? Why do you want to be in S. Carolina?

It might sound cliche to some people that you want to travel before you settle but I think it is a reasonable statement for some people, including myself but I do not feel that it is going to happen.

    5. is there a specific reason as to why you want to travel?

  7. In five years I will be 22 years old. I would like to be in college finishing my senior year and getting ready to acquire my master’s degree while working a steady job. Most likely I will be living in an apartment close to the college I attend. I probably will not be married because I will be focusing on my studies and would rather not get married while still in school. In addition, children will not be a part of my life at this time. I will just be getting ready to start the career I am attending school for. Yes, I will have a car in five years. I will be on my own, going to and from work and school. My money will mainly go towards bills for school but also my apartment, car and other small payments.

    1. Why don't you want children?, Is it because you don't like them? Are they an extra bill to add to all your cost? or you want to pursuit other things and they will prevent you from doing so?

      Delete
    2. i agree, children are just another bill and one more things that you have to worry about.

    3. Well EVazquez, I do want children in the future but I do not want kids within the next 5 years because I will still be in school. Children, school and work at 22 years old is a lot to juggle. I like children and do not look at children as an extra cost.

    7. @ALopez - No colleges in mind yet . For a major maybe social work .

      @EVazquez - I would like 3 children .

  8. In five years, I want to be either in College or fresh out of College. I want to have at least a Masters Degree in Computer science, and hopefully Computer Engineering too. I have tried doing a couple things but Tech seems to be my strong point. If I don’t have one of the Degrees I went for then I will spend my money to get it. I might have a car but probably not due to the extremely high cost of owning a Car (especially with Gas prices and such being so high). I want to be Trilingual, with English, German, and Japanese. These are the languages spoken in the Countries that, if I move out of the U.S., will be the most likely places I will ultimately settle in. I want to have at least a part time job, only for when I’m in College though. I want to then see if I can get a good job with one of the many game companies (Blizzard, Infinity Ward, Bethesda), if that doesn’t work out, I will move to Japan because they have a huge and largely cutting edge job market in the Technology and Information Technology fields. I will then hopefully then be able find a Significant Other and eventually get married and start a family.

    2. What type of games would you design if you were given the option?

      Delete
    3. Computer Science is a good choice. Especially if your strong in that field. I don't for-see computers ever becoming a "thing of the past". they'll just "evolve" so to speak. we will always need them.

    4. I would personally go for RPG or MMORPG, mainly due to the fact that they are most commonly the games that have the best graphics and most complex code albeit that they also normally have the most executable actions out of all of the different types of games(FPS,MOBA,RTS,etc.)

    7. @ S.Belcak- I personally fail to comprehend why you want to be an accountant; so I'm asking you, why do you want to be an accountant?

      Delete
    8. I want to be an account because I'm good in math and I love working with numbers and in accounting you work with numbers all day long. I mean that really is the main reason why I want to be an accountant, so I hope I'll enjoy it.

  9. Five years from now, I see myself finishing up college and becoming a C.E.N. I want to have my own place. I don’t see myself having children, because I will be too focused on getting a degree in Nursing. I want to have a good paying job, but I don’t expect too much of a pay check, because I haven’t finished college. Most of my money will go towards school, my car and my place.

  10. In five years from now I will 22 and most likely be in the marines. I will not any children and most likely not a wife. Everything ill be doing will have to do with the marines. I’ll be living wherever my military base is at. Most of my money will be spent on my mom and me. I’ll probably be in contact with very few people I know now, just a selected few family members. I will not have a college degree just my high school diploma. I will only rely on myself, and everything I have will be mines only. This is most likely how my life will be in five years.

  11. A. Rodriguez In 5 years I am expecting to live in my own house, not have a husband because I’m still going too be young and not want too live with someone else unless it’s a good friend of mine. Yes, I will be starting a new career because I don’t want too be working somewhere now for my whole life! NO, I will not have children I will still be too young. Yeah, I’m sure I will still have the same car, but be saving up for a new one. I will be spending most of my money on traveling, and I honestly don’t know what I want to go to college for and also I don’t even know if I will be in college by that time because I want to just be finishing up my four years and prepping for graduation.

  12. Where do I want to be in five years? I want to be living, raising my son, going to school, working to keep a roof over my son’s head and I hope to be preparing to go into the military. All my life I’ve been put down and told that I wouldn’t accumulate to nothing, that I would live to be another statistic, and in the next five years I want to show the world that I’m way more than that. I want to show I’m a leader not a follower, not only a listener but also a speaker, not only an observer but also an action taker. In five years I hopefully will be married to my beautiful girlfriend Elizabeth Mejia and together will be raising my son Jeremiah Leon Hernandez. Hopefully I’ll be close to graduating and becoming something more for my family. I hope to be doing things with my son my father never did with me. Like playing with him, going out and throwing a ball with him, teaching him small things like learning how to ride a bike and swim. I want him to always remember that I’m always going to love him no matter what. In five years I hope to be in a lot better place that I am now.

  13. Honestly, I don’t see myself being the BIG SUCCESS that my parents always wanted from me. Though I don’t have parents to scold me on my choices anymore. From my perspective, it’s not logical. I was never really one to ‘think ahead’, until recently. I find that it’s too late now. I’m not saying that I’ll never amount to anything; I’m just not going to be President or a lawyer or anything like that. I just plan on becoming a Vet, getting a few pets (dog, cat, horse), living on a small farm. Eventually get married. Have no more than two kids. (if I could plan them) First a girl, (and if a second) a boy. I hope to have the same car I’ve always had. The Dodge Magnum. First one I had, never let me down. Until I let IT down. Stupid electric post. Might go back to a Tech School to get a degree in computers. I’m a nerd when it comes to them. But, I do know, that nothing goes 100% how you want it to. I just need to try my hardest, and hope to make it far.

  15. Five years from now I see myself at my college graduation. Hopefully after college I see myself creating a chain of businesses that becomes very lucrative for me and all investors. I don't wanna go to college and after become broke. So I wanna create a store that can expand. Some type of store that doesn't just expand across U.S.A but across the world. I love music so maybe I can do what Dr. Dre did and create headphones. I don't know but whatever I do I hope it contains music in some aspect.

  16. In five years from now, I want to be a top competitor for an NCAA Cross Country National Championship or a Track and Field National Championship. I also would want to start looking for a job in marketing, as that is what I would like to major in during my college years. I plan to have a wife that will be able to stay home while I work and practice. i don't want my wife to have to work because i puts way to much stress on a family, having both parents working at once. I want to have my first child in a year from this point and consider to start settling down. I plan to have most of my money go towards finishing up schooling and my running career and my family. Family will always come first to me, even though that has not been the case in my family for a very long period of time now. M.Allred

  17. Me in five years I’m most likely going to be working with my dad in a elevator company called Kone elevator. Also going to be almost done with college and after that will be working a lot more with all the stuff I learned like welding in Votec and electric mechanics in college. When all done with school I will have more time to do better at my job and make my dad proud.

  18. In five years, I'll be 23 years old, no kids, not married. I'll be out of my "party life" and I, hopefully, will be in college studying Criminal Justice. I don't have anything specific that I wanted to study but for the long run I want to become a Probation Officer. Or, if I decide not to go to college, I would like to join the Navy. No reason why, I just think it's different. Everyone in my family was all just in the Army or Marines. I always had a thing about my family proud of me considering the fact I'm the youngest sibling. I want to show them and to everyone else who's been doubting me that I can be someone, doing something with my life when I'm older.

  19. In five years I would like to be done with school. Hopefully pursuing my career as an Interior Decorator. I would love to be living in California and becoming very successful. I would want to have a husband that makes me happy. I want four kids and to be living right next to the beach. I also want a big house and my husband to drive an Escalade. I want to marry a rich guy because money being there is what I’m used to. (Not to be conceded) I love spending my money on my self and for my friends, but when I have kids I will most likely be spending my money on them. My mom always spends her money on me, then my sister way before she thinks about spending money on her self. So because of that I will do the same for my kids. My dad loves to travel and take family trips to all different places around the country. He wants us as a family to spend time together and for me and my sister to see all the different places there are to see. So I will like to do the same with my family. That is where I would like to be in 5 years.

  20. In five years I plan to be coming out of college. I plan to go to Bloomsburgh university for law enforcement. Hopefully getting accepted to a police station right away out of college would make my life easier but those chances are not high because of need for officers are not high. So I might have to move out of the city to somewhere hiring. Law enforcement has intrested me since I was little. The fact that its mostly an active job grabs my attention. I plan on putting my money into my dodge charger making it faster and more efficient. I hope not to have any kids coming out of college. If I do, I would be happy putting money into them, then my car.

  21. Five years from i hope to be getting out of college and doing what I've always wanted to do since i was little which is physical therapy. I also plan to be living in a big house like the one's rich people live in, with a husband who hopefully will be my current boyfriend named Jorge we love each other very much which is crazy because I am only a junior and he's a senior, but i know that things will work out, like i said right now he is a senior when he gets out of high school he will study at Northampton Community college then transfer to DeSales and study to become a surgeon, which means that in five years he will hopefully have a paycheck to. In five years I really don't want to have a kid yet it's to early I want to visit places around the world before I have any kids... but anything cant happen. I hope to be spending my money on traveling and getting another degree i really want to go far with physical therapy because it's something that I'm really interested in and i really love. I would like to be driving a nice car something small nothing big at least until I actually have kids. That's where i would like to be in five years from now.
